![]() ![]() never updated their compatability info to note that. ![]() ![]() The original non-PnP AWE32 is NOT compatable with BeOS. I have gotten hard drives and CD-ROM drives to work on this card, however not all drives worked. I dont know if it could be used with hard drives, but i used to have two cd-rom drives in my 486 connected to it, and they worked surprisingly fine considering it's ISA card after all. I remember that win95 at least detected it as "Standard IDE Controller". Pandora Xero 17:27, 2 August 2006 (UTC) Reply I also would like to know if it's necessary for the VGA board to have an IRQ assigned to it, because I could disable that from the BIOS Setup.Does anyone know about the IDE interface on some/all of these cards? was it ever usable as an actual drive controller? I had one such card, and another SB16 from ages ago that both had IDE interfaces, and was wondering if they were ever fully functional. I must tell you I had trouble to boot kernels from the 2.4.x family until I swapped the PCI boards. I have disabled on-board USB and serial port 2, left serial 1 because my mouse is at ttyS0.Īny ideas? The only other hardware I have is a PCI video board, SiS 305 and an ethernet card, Realtek Fast Ethernet (8139too module probed), both PCI. It takes forever for the echo to appear on the terminal and the modem is dead, doesn't accept any commands, like if they were being sent to the wrong serial port, you know. ![]() But shouldn't at least the modem dial out? When I turn it up with both boards attached, the modem won't reply to my AT commands issued in minicom. I wonder if the voice device is causing trouble. And it's ridiculous, because my SB wants IRQ 5 and DMA 1,5 while the modem is set up to be ttyS1 (COM2), IRQ 3. I'm having trouble getting my system to work with my only two ISA boards, the audio/game and modem/voice ones mentioned above. ![]()
